Klang Bak Kut Teh @ Under the Big Tree 大树头

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

Bak Kut Teh is undoubtedly one of the most popular Malaysian Chinese dish everywhere. Klang is particularly famous for Bak Kut Teh where you can find many shops and hawker stalls selling Bak Kut Teh in its many variations.

On Monday, I went with this famous 大树头 (Under the Big Tree) BKT in Klang. You can see from the top picture, the big tree root which provide a good shade ffrom the heat. I did not managed to get a picture of the signboard. We were there at 10.30am and there was no crowd and the boss and workers taking a short rest. I again left it to my old friend and ex colleague who work in Klang to place the order. He ordered Chinese Tea, Yau Char Kwei and off course their speciality BKT (Dry or Soup), we go for the soup and two steam pom frets. It taste definitely better than those around PJ area.
This BKT shop has been there for along time and there a branch @ Kota Kemuning.

There are many others speciality dishes at this shop. Ask the boss for recommendations.
