Magaret yong Tau foo @ Goodyear Court 9, USJ

Monday, October 15, 2007

After the Pan Mee lunch, we went to the Toyata showroom to view the latest Toyota Vios @ Section 14 and then went home to take a rest. For dinner, we head to USJ to Resturant Magaret YTF which has moved to this new location not too long ago. They used to operate from another shop few road away. As the shop only open for business at 6pm, we were at USJ Taipan to buy some fruits first. You dont need to go all the way to Ampang for good Hakka styled stuffed vegetable fix, there are a few at USJ and Puchong. Magaret YTF has been in business for along time prior to moving to USJ. (Previously at Jalan Chan Sow lin and Jalan Juchai Lama). Look at the number of reviews on various newspapers.
It offers some of the best Hakka dishes like Chee Keok Shuen (stewed pork trotters with vinegar), Chee Pau Kai (seasoned chicken fried in paper wrap) and of course Hakka-styled yong tau foo.

The Yong Tau Foo are made in typical Hakka style, fresh from the kitchen giving it a smooth and springy texture. We ordered 10pieces mix (no chilly and bittergourd). Each piece cost RM0.80. No vegetables as the wet market was not opened on Raya holidays.

The main entree comes soaked in brown gravy sauce.
The fired stuffs served on a saucer line with banana leaf.Tau Gan (Foo Chook stuffes with fish paste) @ RM1.80/pcThe chilly and sweet sauce are very good too.
The foods are yummy. Simply fresh and well cooked and we leave nothing behind. The meal with drinks costs us RM16.00. If you need direction, booking or takeaway , you can contact: Carmen at 012- 691-6576.
