Travel @ Sentosa Island

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

On the way back from Hainan Island, I put up a nite at Sentosa Island Siloso Beach Resort Hotel @ Promo rate SGD175 Nett/Nite. This hotel opened in August 2006 and the Villas and Family Suites are still under renovations. The location is very convenient to all the attractions at Sentosa. Situated near Mount Imbiah on Sentosa, Imbiah Lookout is the latest cluster of new and exciting attractions that will appeal to all. Adventure-seeker, nature lover, history-buff…whatever your calling, there is always something fun and exhilarating for everyone to experience. The attractions are Carlsberg Sky Tower, Cable Car, 4D Magix, Butterfly Park & Insect kingdom, The Merlion, Images of Singapore and Luge and Skyride.

Checked in on Dec 10, 2006 @ 1700hrs and visited Underwater World(Entrance fee SGD19.50/pax) followed by dinner at Sakae Sushi, the successful shushi franchise founded by Singaporean. Back to hotel early to rest earlier to watch the Chelsea Vs Arsenal game.

Woke up early and started our exploration of Sentosa Island. Bought the Imbiah Thrill package @SGd31.50/pax. This package jump starts an exhilarating adventure where you experience Sentosa's newest attractions:

* Carlsberg Sky Tower
* Sentosa 4D Magix
* Sentosa Luge & Skyride (2 rides)

Also, you'll get a 20% discount when you dine at Tastes of Singapore and/or SKYBAR.
We also visited the Dolphin Lagoon to watch the Pink Dolphin Show.

It is not cheap for the entrance fee and someone has come up with this acronym for SENTOSA.

So Expensive and Nothing To See Actually (SENTOSA)!!!

We left the island for home at 1600hrs to avoid the after office hours jam at the Second link. Therefore abandon our plan to take a look at Singapore newest shopping centre, VIVO City. The journey back is smooth except for the bad jam at Senawang-Seremban stretch. We stopped by at Seri Kembangan for dinner at Chen Fatt Restaurant. We ordered steam Ikan Hantu, Sweet and sour pork and a Vege. The foods here are very tasty and good and it costs RM80.00 and the fish alone was RM44.00. I will go back to try their famous Curry Fish and many others specialities and do a write up on it.
