Thursday, April 12, 2007

Back to KL after spending 3 days @ Bangkok. I will be posting some items about some happenings in Bangkok.

Everyone has heard of “Jatujak” the center of a great variety of goods, lots of shops, and Thai products, wholesale market for farmers’ products and local handicrafts. Furthermore, this place is a big market for Thai local products export. The variety and lively atmosphere of Jatujak Market has added colour to the weekend for Bangkok people for long time. This place has helped create careers and added wealth to thousands of people and attracts huge numbers of foreign tourists. Jatujak has a long history of being the largest market in the world, covering 68 rai (1 rai = 1,600 square meters) and made up of 27 sections. It has 10,000 shops and 300 vendors.

This is one place that you must visit when in Bangkok. It is open on Saturday and Sunday only.

So after touching down 2.30pm @ the New Bangkok International Airport (Suvarnabhumi), we head straight to the market after checking in @ ChaoPhraya Park Hotel as it closed at 7pm. The taxi fare from hotel to market was 100Baht. Another convenience way to Jatujak, you can also go there by MRT.

Many 2nd hand shoes shops selling NIKE, Adidas, PUMA etc. You find that much in KL except maybe at Jalan TAR.
Grade A Imitation sports jersies of all famous football team @ 400Baht.

After shopping, you have the option to ship them back to KL by DHL, TNT, Fedex etc
The market sell puppies too.
Cute one too.
Many different types of stalls and you will be lost walking through this huge market. It is hot and humid.
And many tees with all sorts of funny words and slogan.
