Old Town Wet Market
Saturday, September 13, 2008With the mushrooming of hypermarkets at every major townships, is wet market still the place to go for your weekly marketing. I used to shop at Carrefour, Subang Jaya or Giant, USJ but not anymore. I prefer Pasar Malam or traditional Wet Market where the produce are much freshier and cheaper.
My weekly marketing destination with my family is the Sunday Pasar Malam (Night Market) @ Paramount Garden. Once in a while, I will dropped by the Old Town Wet Marketing when I am around the area. This morning after visiting my favorite Pan Mee shop at Sri Sentosa, we went there for our marketing.
Old Town Wet Market, I beleive is the oldest market in Petaling Jaya. We were there around 11am after the peak hour and the market is not so crowded.
I find wet market better not just for the prices but more varieties as you can choose from the many stalls. Of course, some people do not like the wet market because they are not so clean and organised.
Beef Stall
Fish Stall
Vege stall
And all of them sell fresh and reasonably priced produce. With the rising cost of living, I would rather shop at Pasar Malam or Wet market.
