Long Life Puja for Khen Rinpoche @ Amitabha Buddhist Centre, Singapore

Monday, June 02, 2008

I drove into Singapore at around 6.30am to avoid any traffic jam. It was a smooth drive and I managed to locate Amitabha Buddhist Centre without much of a problem. I stopped by at one of the nearby restuarant to have a cup of coffee and toast bread.

About Long Life Pujas

When we offer a Long Life Puja we make prayers and offerings for our teacher to have a long and healthy life. But it is not only for the benefit of the lama; the students themselves have the opportunity to create unimaginable mountains of merit, creating the cause to have our kind and precious teacher remain with us and also to meet with such perfect teachers in future lives until enlightenment is achieved.

This is Amitabha Buddhist Centre in Singapore located at Lorong 25A, Geylang. The seven-storey building offers:
10,000 square feet of space for classes, meditation and events
a main prayer hall with a capacity for 300 people
a conference room
a meditation room on the mezzanine floor
a second prayer hall on 4th floor
a library
a shop with a range of books, handicrafts and holy objects

I left Singapore at 3.00pm after the Vegetarian lunch provided by ABC. It was raining heavily in Jb and I left JB at 6.00pm. The jam at Senawang-Seremban was very bad and we reached home at 11.15pm with stopover at Seremban for dinner.
