Siem Reap'sTuk-Tuk

Thursday, June 26, 2008

We have some free time during the afternoon after some shopping at Central Market. So we walked outside the hotel and this Tuk-Tuk offered to us a 2-hour city tour for US$5.00 for 4 pax.

In Siem Reap, Tuk-Tuk is a very popular mode of transport here and each Tuk-Tuk can sit 2-4 persons. They normally charged US$2.00/pax.

While we were outside of the hotel taking some pictures, this tuk-tuk driver offer to take us to the town centre. He quoted USD5.00 for 2-hours (Thats is really cheap) take us to all the tourist attractions at the town centre and stop and let us take pictures and also do some shopping. We try to bargain for USD4.00 but he insisted on USD5.00.

Taking this tuk-tuk for a short your of the town is fun and enjoyable. Traffic is not heavy and you can really experience the lifestyle here.

The road here is normally 2 lanes and with dry sands on both sides of the road so it can be very dusty when cars and lorries drive past.
