Day 1 Dinner @ Malioboro, Jogja

Friday, May 16, 2008

After checking in, we took a walk around the shopping center and the stalls along the night market along Jalan Malioboro. Most of the shops sell Batik, Handicrafts, Souveniors, T-Shirts etc and we found nothing interesting to buy.

It was dinner time and we went around looking for foods, you will find a rows and rows of food stalls like those below with rows of tables(no chairs) where you have to sit on the floor to eat. This must be the local culture. We did not choose any of them as we found the cooking area not so clean to avoid stomach problem on the 1st day.

All kinds of foods are available from Ayam Goreng, Gudeg, Satay, Seafood, Mee Soto and many more.

Lumpia Ayam. Look similar to our Popiah but the ingredients are chicken. It taste quite funny due to the spices used. We just took one piece only.
