Thaipusam is now a Public Holiday for KL & Putrajaya
Monday, January 21, 2008Breaking News. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi declared a popular Hindu festival a public holiday for KL & Putrajaya at an MIC Gathering in Kuala Lumpur this evening.
Even though, we in Selangor have been enjoying Thaipusam as a Public Holiday, this move will be most welcome by KLites that did not enjoy this public holiday in the past.
The timing of the announcement point to an election very soon.
"But holiday is holiday and work is work, and we must make sure to work hard and vote hard," PM said, in a reference to general elections expected to be called soon.
Malaysia is one of the country which has the most public holidays. Are we aiming to be No. 1.?
