Lauching of New Scania P, G & R Series
Thursday, April 17, 2008On Tuesday, April 15, 2008, I attended the Scania Launching of their next generation of New P, G & R Series @ F1 Sepang Circuit Paddock Area.
SCANIA, a leading Swedish maker of heavy vehicles and bus, plans to use Malaysia as its base to bring in components and distribute kits to its assembly lines in Southeast Asia. Its chief executive officer for Southeast Asia, Peter Sjoblom, said the company decided several years ago to consolidate its existing production lines in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Scania has between 20 and 25 per cent market share in the 32 tonnes-and-above truck sector, the higher segment of the truck industry in Malaysia.
Normally, you would be at new car launch. Well, Scania Truck launch is a grand event with a 6 course lunch provided.
