Loch Ness @ Scotland

Loch Ness is a perfect holiday destination. The Visit Inverness website describe it as " No holiday in Scotland is complete without a visit to Loch Ness. Over 20 miles long, a mile wide and 700 feet at its deepest, Loch Ness is the largest lake in Scotland by volume. The surrounding area is filled with historic attractions, natural wonders, cosy places to stay, and superb eateries. The Loch Ness Monster is just one of the many myths and legends to be discovered in this particularly beautiful part of Scotland."

We joined the Rabbies's Loch Ness, Gencoe & Highlands Day Tour from Edinburgh. Our travel route as follows:
Fort Augustus is a pretty little town in its own right, the Caledonian Canal which links the lochs of the Great Glen dominates the town and makes a great place to relax and watch the boats sail by.

The loch is best known for the legendary sightings of the Loch Ness Monster ("Nessie") and we take the opportunity of a boat cruise* on the loch to go in search of the monster, or simply to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
