Day 5 : Tour of Bajrayogini Temple (Near Sankhu, Nepal)

On Day 5, we traveled to visit the Bajrayogini temple which is located quite a distance from Kopan and our guest house.

The Bajrayogini temple is
situated roughly 20 kilometers north-east of downtown Kathmandu and 2.5. K.m. north of Sankhu. The very religious place during the Kirat period was given the name Gunbihar (place). The name that resembles the Kirat language is now near Gunbaha.

Bajrayogini Temple is a famous Tantric temple of Kathmandu valley. It is also well known as bodhisatta(enlightement who is fulfilling the perfection to attain Buddhahood)'s temple. A very famous temple of Nepal of Bajrayogini situated in Sankhu, Kathmandu is supposed to have the greatest power of blessings. The adduced history explains that the king Mana Dev once mediated at Gun Bihar area.

This is the map from Sankhu to Bajrayogini temple.

After driving through some winding roads, we arrived at base and we have to walk some 400-500steps to reach the temple. (Batu Caves only have 272 steps, imagine how high we have to climb to reach the temple.

The weather was beuatiful at this time of the year and we start the climb from the base.
