I have heard about this famous Mee Hoon Kuih shop and read many good reviews about their version of Mee Hoon Kuih. Had wanted to check it out but have not been to Klang town for quite awhile.
Today, my son had an appointment with Dr Yap Skin Specialist @ Klang so I decided not to miss this Mee Hoon Kuih and head to this restuarant at 10am when the shop open for business. I had a little bit of problem locating it as i make the wrong turn to Taman Eng Ann initially but found it later. It is quite easy to locate. The main signboard used to show Restoran Son Hooi Hua but it has got a new signboard which showed Fatty Mee Hoon Kuih.
Since the shop just open, it was not crowded but notice many people order Take-away. The price is also reasonable RM3.00(S), RM3.20(M) and RM3.50(L). Only the Soup version available here.
Media reviews pasted across the wall and appeared on the HOCHIAK TV program too, So it must be delicous.

Drinks you have to order separately. Their special Bali Cincau.

The Mee Hoon Kuih are prepared fresh upon order as you can see the Indonesian helpers use hand to pinch the dough and place them in the soup pot. The Aunty will be doing the cooking.
This Mee hoon kuih are served with pork slices, liver, choy sum, ikan bilis as compared to Pan Mee which normally served with minced pork.
This is small bowl which is just nice for small eater.

And this the Large Order for me with additional egg (hidden inside). This Pan Mee is definitely one of the best that we have eaten. It is a little different from the Taman Sri Sentosa/SS 19 Pan mee that I normally patronise. Whenever I am in Klang, I shall pop by to this shop.

We ordered extra ikan bilies.

ReplyDeletecbenc12; This version is very delicious too. There are so many ways of cooking this Pan Mee or Mee Hoon Kuih this days.
ReplyDeleteThere is another new Pan Mee Shop at Aman Suria called Original Cha Cha Pan Mee. Tried them 2-3 times but just average to mee. :)
:)
U r so lucky for not having to wait long cos its a norm to wait one hour and above. A Klangites would agreed.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the sweetness of the soup which is cooked from ikan bilis (mind you that you don't feel thirsty after eating so its not MSG) and tenderness of the meat....superb.
The most special portion of this bowl of pan mee is of cos none other than its pork liver...simply yummy.
Also not forgetting the green vege which is good for our body...i must say that the owner is not stingy of giving more vege though i find the ikan bilis is expensive for they charge RM1 for extra.

Anonymous: Thanks for sharing. One hour is way too long, I am not sure I will wait for a bowl of pan mee.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, I will try to go there early morning to avoid the crowd. This Pan mee is one of my favourite. :)
