Restoran Tringkap @ Tringkap, Cameron Highland

I got to know this Restaurant through She, the epicurious girl Blog before I left for Cameron Highland when I was searching for some nice and reasonably priced Restaurant. She gave a very good recommendation of this restaurant. Some restaurant at Brinchang charge cut throat price when there know that you are tourist. The last trip whe i was there, I got slaughtered by this Rest. Fong Lam(not sure i spell it correctly).

Restoran Tringkap is located away from the two main towns of Tanah rata and Brinchang. It is very easy to locate as the sign board is very prominently display along the Tringkap main road.

This is their signature dish Black Pepper Tilapia where the fish is filleted and deep fried and served with tangy salad on the side. Very special and the 1st time I had it cooked in such manner. Taste very crispy and delicious. RM28.00 for this dish.

All of them enjoying their foods. Except for the chicken which we cannot finished which we takeaway for dinner. I would agreed with epicuriousgirl (Great recomendations) that all their dishes are above average.

All in, we paid RM103.00 for foods and drinks for 11 persons. Reasonable priced. The price would be at least 30% more if you eat at Brinchang or Tanah Rata.

  1. The fish looks yummy... but then I am a fan of anything deep fried and fillet summore, no need to pick at bones plus black pepper plus salad at the side.. Wuah...*mouth watering liao* Haha.

We just got back from Malaysia and some of the people we went with relatives own that restaurant. We had many drunken nights at the restaurant tringkap. Delicious food and good times. I have to say those people up there sure do like their Martell and Chivas. If you like cognac and are up for a challege try out drinking "the elephant" he usually dines there every night. If you do drink with him tell him his western friends Brett, Loridawn and Landon say hello.
