This claypot chicken rice shop has been there for quite along time. I used to go there quite often many years ago. This evening, we decided to take a drive to Old Town for the claypot chicken rice.
When we arrived there at around 7.15pm, the place was full and we managed to get a table at the corridor. Taking down our order was fast, an auntie took our order and told us that we got to wait awhile.
The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Parking could be a problem during lunch hours.
We ordered 1 big and 1 small claypot chicken rice and 1 water cress soup. The soup was serve very quickly and it taste very good. This place also other type of soup like pig stomach, lotus root peanut etc.
We waited for about 15-20mins, the big pot arrived first and it comes with generous portion of chicken and lapcheong. You can also add salted fish but we did not add. The taste is delicious and satisfying. It is as good or better than the Koon Kee at Damansara Jaya.
And 5 mins later the small pot came.
For 2 pots of claypot rice, 1 soup and 1 pot of hot water(as we brought our own tea leaves), it costs RM21.50 for a nice dinner.

ReplyDeleteLooks good. The food in pj old town is not bad actually. Like to frequent the bak kut teh (night) and a hawker centre (for morning breakfast) there.

gee.. i stayed at pj old town for nearly 2 years last time but i didnt know the claypot chicken rice is good. i always go for the fish porridge there, very yummy (opposite the menara mutiara majestic & available from 5.30pm onward)
