Today is Wesak Day, we celebrate the most important event in history, The Buddha's Enlightenment — without which there would be no path for us to follow.
It is a day when Buddhists observe the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha. Religious offerings and rituals such as 'bathing of the Buddha', chanting of holy scriptures, lighting of joss sticks, oil lamps and ordination of monks usually take place in the Buddhist temples around this time.
At Losang Drapga Center, the Wesak Day Program as follows:
10:00-10:30am Geshe Tenzin Zopa's short teaching
10:30-12:00noon Praise to Shakyamuni Buddha's 12 Deeds. Incense Puja, tea offering to the protectors and bathing of the Buddha ceremony.
12noon onwards Extensive lunch offering prayer followed by vegetarian meal being served to all.
Happy Wesak Day to all Buddhists.

Double Joys as we will be having 2 days of Public Holidays.

ReplyDeleteWorking on a labour day, the company should pay us 10X the pay! triple pay not worth it..it's not my choice to work on that day.My job requires me to work,a call centre. operates 24/7
