Parangtritis is a beach full of myths, which is believed to be the manifestation of the unity among Merapi Mountain, Yogyakarta Kingdom, and Parangtritis Beach. The legend tells that Panembahan Senopati and Sunan Kalijaga once met in this place after completing their meditation. Panembahan Senopati was reminded of being a humble ruler despite his supernatural powers.

  2. Blader: It is very high tide and this beach is very dangerous, not advisable to swim according to the guide.

Normally people go there for sunrise and sunset, we were there around 3pm. :)

Didn't drop by for a long time already. The loading of your website is slow due to my usage of Maxis 3G. Now that I'm in kopitiam I can read a bit without having the loading hanged.

  7. Wanwan: Thanks for dropping by. Yes, Borobudur is very similar to Angkor Wat bur each has its history.

You can fly to Jogjakarta or Solo by Air Asia and Borobudur is somewhere in between this two cities. I think Air Asia have more flights to Jogja.

As for budget accommodation, there are budget hotel or backpackers hostel. You may have to search more about it. I stayed at Ibis which is right in the town centre. :)
