Traditional Nepalese & Newar Foods @ Thamel House Restaurant

Day 3 after shopping around Thamel area, we adjourned to Thamel House Restuarant to taste local Nepalese & Newar Foods.Thamel House is a traditional house built in the Pagoda architectural style, appended with marvelously adorned wood carved windows doors and brick walls at a glance, you will see that the building has been taken care of lovingly and graciously and that it is clean and well maintained. This is the Thamel House Restaurant, a traditional restaurant with fine cuisine.

One of the Nepalese tradition is to welcome you with a welcome drink: rice wine. The waiter are very skillful in serving us the wine without dropping a drop from 4-5 ft away from the small little wine cup.

  4. Restaurent is nice design. Love to see the pics. I just want to point out that you are using wrong word concerning Newars. We are called Newar both in Nepali and English. But you are using"Traditional Nepalese & Newari Foods @ Thamel House Restaurant ". Word "Newar" is both noun and adjective for instance like French. Newar people or Newar food.Foreigner do not understand you what does it mean ? You are using/calling Anglais food to English food.Anglais id French word equivalent to English. Newari is even wrong to use in Nepali(khas) language. It is just Newar. That's all. It is insulting to Call Newari to Newar people. Please correct it. I am going to visit you when I come to Nepal.
    Thank you very much.

  5. Niran: Thanks for the comments. I am using the same words based on the Signboard of this particular restaurant put up by the owner who are Nepalese.

I have no problem correcting it. :)
